Generating envId and linking the license to the machine

EnvId is short for "environment identificator" or "startup environment identifier". To obtain a license file for ROBIN Robot and bind it to multiple machines/accounts.

To bind a ROBIN Robot Employee license to a specific machine or virtual workstation, you must send the unique parameters of this machine - the envId.txt file - to the responsible manager.

To obtain the parameters, follow the steps:

  1. On the computer or virtual machine where you plan to install ROBIN Robot Employee, log in with the user account under which the robots will be run.
  2. Install the ROBIN platform (if not installed) according to the installation instructions.
  3. Go to the ROBIN Player folder, usually it is C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Programs\Robin Platform\2.0.0\RobotPlayer. Alternatively, you can quickly access the folder by clicking on the "Robin Robot Player" shortcut on your desktop and selecting "File Location".
  4. In the opened folder, run GetEnvId.exe (double-click on it). A file "envId.txt" with the machine parameters will appear in the folder.
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 for each workstation where robots will be started.
  6. All obtained "envId.txt" files should be packed into an archive and sent to the responsible manager for license binding.
  1. The number of envId.txt files sent must equal the number of licenses purchased.
  2. The identifiers must be obtained from the machine and user account that will be used to run ROBIN Robot.
  3. Cases where licenses have been purchased but the computers/virtual environments to run the robots have not yet been determined are discussed with the manager on an individual basis.
