Installation of the ROBIN Robot for the Standalone edition

The software is installed using the installation wizard . During installation, the configuration parameters of the Software (addresses, ports, logins, passwords, protocols, etc.) will be assigned default values.

Installing ROBIN Robot

The ROBIN Robot component (for MS Windows operating systems) is installed together with all components of the ROBIN platform. The settings differ for the different delivery variants. The installation process for the Standalone and Enterprise variants of the ROBIN Platform is described in detail in the section "ROBIN Studio. User Manual → Installing ROBIN Studio" in this documentation.

To install the software it is necessary to download the software distribution file named Robin Platform-std_ordinal_mix-2.0.0-RTM-Standalone from the link provided by the developers or upload it to the workstation and perform the following sequence of actions:

1. Launch the installation by double-clicking on the file name (Robin Platform-2.x.x-RTM-Standalone.exe, where 2.x.x in the file name corresponds to the current version number of the platform release) .
2. Select the Program installation mode - for one or several users of the workstation.
   
   • "For me only" option - installation is performed in the directory C:/Users/<userName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Robin Platform. Recommended installation option.
   • "For all users" - installation is performed in the directory C:/Program Files/Robin Platform. After installation, the platform components are available for all users of the terminal server OS.
     
3. Allow changes to be made on the workstation by clicking the [Yes] button, and then select the language of the installation interface from the drop-down list and click the [Ok] button.
4. Select the components to be installed (it is recommended to select all components) and click the [Next] button.
5. Confirm the start of installation by clicking the [Install] button, the programme will be installed in the appropriate folder depending on the selected Studio installation mode (see step 2).
6. Next, the installation procedure will begin.
7. Click the [Finish] button to complete the installation.
8. After completing the installation, copy the license*.lic file to the folder
   

   C:\Program Files\Robin Platform\2.0.0\RobotPlayer.

   To install the licence file, it is necessary to place the .*lic licence file into the directory of the corresponding component, depending on the selected installation mode:

9. If you selected the option to install Robin Platform for one user only  , then the following path must be specified:
   
   • For ROBIN Player C:/Users/<userName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Robin
   • For ROBIN Agent C:/Users/<userName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Robin Platform/2.0.0/Agent
   • For ROBIN Studio C:/Users/<userName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Robin Platform/2.0.0/Studio
10. If you selected the option to install Robin Platform for multiple users  , you must specify the following path:
    
    • For ROBIN Player C:/Program Files/Robin Platform/2.0.0/RobotPlayer
    • For ROBIN Agent C:/Program Files/Robin Platform/2.0.0/Agent
    • For ROBIN Studio C:/Program Files/Robin Platform/2.0.0/Studio
