ROBIN OCR is an extension of the ROBIN platform functionality, a toolkit for extracting text data from images and scans of documents, using OCR technology and subsequent intelligent processing of the resulting data.

Actions for intelligent document processing are integrated into the ROBIN platform and can be easily used to recognize data from various media and process it in No-Code mode.

How it works 

OCR, is an optical character recognition technology used to extract text data from images and scans of documents. 

By using OCR, the speed of document processing is increased tenfold. What a person takes a minute to do, an OCR system can do in 1 second. OCR helps to free up employees' time for more intelligent work, which will eventually bring additional profit to the company and reduce labor costs. 

Document classification, template builder and data verification are used to enhance OCR capabilities.

Classification is a recognition step that automatically determines which type and kind of document should be recognized (document sorting). 

Template Constructor is a tool for marking up documents for further extraction of specific data from the document. It is useful in cases of regular flow of similar structured documents, but we need specific information from them. Using the Constructor, you can tell the system what kind of document it is and what data should be extracted from it.

Data Validation is a tool with which the system can communicate with a human in terms of evaluating the quality of data recognition, in order to signal that there is doubt in the result of recognition and human validation is required. After the given word/text has been processed by a human, the correct result is stored in the system.

By adding RPA capabilities to OCR, we increase the speed of document processing and data processing in general. For example, processing a document and entering the recognized data of a delivery note in the accounting system takes an average of 5 minutes for a human, while the OCR+RPA tandem takes 1 minute
